Even though I have been fighting a cold this weekend, it was lovely to putter in the garden for awhile this afternoon. Fall color and cannas were still in bloom. Paul was busy cleaning the leaves out of the pool and watching the Cowboy Game.
Several years ago we went on a girlfriend's trip to the Biltmore Mansion. The gardens were beautiful. I saw some great ideas for re-purposing wine bottles and corks into our garden.
When we started building our garden, we chose Knock Out Roses, the easiest rose to grow here in North Texas. Three years ago, I discovered the David Austin Rose. They are a lovely, fragrant English Rose.
We took the advice of everyone we have talked to about growing bamboo. Bamboo definitely belongs in a pot, but this pot did not last very long. Guess, we need to move on to Plan B.
It rained nearly all weekend, so I did not get out in the garden. I spent my weekend organizing my office and looking through my pictures. This one definitely made me smile. I am so lucky to have a garden studio to work in.
