Last October, Paul and I were shopping at Archie's Gardenland. All throughout the store, they had these giant caladiums. We bought several pots and thought they would be the perfect solution to adding some height in the garden.

Did you hear?? I Live In Dallas won "Best of Big D Reader's Choice" for Best Blog in Dallas. Congratulations to Jennifer and Neil !! What an accomplishment.

Update from P&B's Garden Brian and Jennifer are on vacation in Costa Rica this week. Me and Paul ..... just hanging out. Looking forward to this weekend when we celebrate Rachael's 29th birthday !!

This is a new hibiscus for me this year, Kopper King. Darker leaves and a huge pink flower with dark center. I am running out of room but I am sure I will find a permanent spot for this beauty. Happy Summer !!

Texas soil is far cry from the rich earth in North Dakota where my Grandmother grew her hollyhocks. I have been trying for several years to carry on her tradition and get them to grow here but they tend to get rust on their leaves. I finally got one to do pretty good in the back yard this year.
